The price of natural gas supplied by Gazprom to the Republic of Moldova in June is US$568.15 per thousand cubic meters of gas, Moldovagaz CEO Vadim Ceban has announced.
As the previous months, the whole volume of gas purchased from the Russian company will be supplied to the Transnistrian region through Tiraspoltransgaz to satisfy the needs of the consumers from the left side of the Nistru.
Also today, Moldovatransgaz said that the five alternative suppliers that import natural gas for consumers in the Republic of Moldova and are active on the natural gas market of the country do not supply gas through the Transnistrian region (interconnection point Grebenyky). The gas is imported through Romania-Moldova (IP Ungheni/Tohatin) and Ukraine-Moldova (IP Oleksiivka), bypassing the Transnistrian region.
Consequently, the natural gas supplied to consumers from the left side of the Nistru cannot be purchased and sold to consumers from the right side. This is confirmed through the contracts signed by Moldovatransgaz with suppliers, which stipulate the interconnection points through which natural gas is delivered to Moldova and the requests made by these suppliers to Moldovatransgaz, the company said in a press release.
