Over the past three years, Germany, through its projects, has supported the efforts to transform the Republic of Moldova in such areas as good governance, regional development, agriculture, energy efficiency, defense and public order, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said in a meeting with Katrin Göring-Eckardt, Vice President of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany, IPN reports.
The Moldovan official noted the active cooperation between the parliamentary friendship groups of the two countries, which allows to have discussions and exchange views on various topics. “The justice sector reform, combating of disinformation and the fight against oligarchs are a commitment made to the citizens, but also a commitment on our European path. The legislature is committed to fully implementing the remaining three recommendations of the European Commission,” stated Igor Grosu.
The official stressed that Germany’s experience is useful and the sides agreed that the two countries will cooperate in combating the phenomenon of disinformation.
In this connection, Igor Grosu expressed his gratitude for the fact that, starting with May 1, a German low-cost airline will operate flights to Köln and Stuttgart. “We hope that German investors will come to the Moldovan market because the development of the economy and attraction of investments are also among our priorities,” said Speaker Grosu.
