Moldova experiencing squad problems
The national football team of Moldova faces a squad crisis ahead of two friendly matches with Venezuela and El Salvador on May 23 and 26 respectively. Manager Ion Caras will not be able to call up several key players, including Alexandru Suvorov, Igor Armas and Alexandru Epureanu, who are recovering from injuries, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Other four footballers, Igor Tigirlas, Igor Bugaiov, Nicolae Calancea and Radu Catan, weren’t allowed to join the national team by their clubs, which have important matches the same week.
“I regret we don’t have our best players available. On the other hand, we’ll have the chance to test other players. We must solve our problems in friendly matches in order to be fully prepared for official games”, said Ion Caras at a press conference on Wednesday, May 16.
Despite the problems, Ion Caras hopes that his players will stand up to the challenge. “We can obtain good results. I want the boys to go there and give their best, regardless of the adversary”, added the coach.
The final squad will be announced after the penultimate matchday of the National Division on Friday, May 18.
