Moldova exhibits 70 sorts of wines in Bucharest
Seventy out of 300 sorts of wines exhibited at the third International Wine Contest in Bucharest. Taking part in the event four-day event are 45 wine producers, importers and exporters from 13 countries.
Fifty-four companies were admitted at the contest and they exhibited 326 samples, by 80 more than at the precedent edition. Most of firms are based in Romania and Moldova, which try to reorient to the Romanian market after Russia has prohibited the Moldovan wine imports.
The Moldovan wine exports turned over 313 million dollars in 2005, by 12 percent more than in 2004. Moldova exports 80 percent of wine production by about 250 million bottles a year. The medium wine exports of Moldova turn over about 150 million litres a year.
Moldova exports at least 95 percent of its wines, being the No.7 wine exporter in the world. The wine industry assures 25 percent of GDP.
