Mobile phones will be banned at lessons from December

The use of mobile phones during school lessons will be banned starting with December. The law containing this provision will be voted on in the middle of next month. The announcement was made by Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun in a live broadcast on Facebook, IPN reports.

The minister said that on November 20, the amendments to the Education Code will be approved in the Cabinet meeting and they will reach Parliament on November 21-22. "We hope they will be given a first reading then and during the first weeks of December we will have these provisions already put into law," stated the official.

Dan Perciun said that, in parallel, colleagues from the Ministry have prepared the instruction that will need to be approved after the law is amended.

At the end of August, the Minister of Education and Research stressed that, in principle, the students will have the possibility to come to school with the devices, but during classes they will have to leave them in specially allocated places.
