A young woman reported missing on December 26 was found deceased in a lake within a park in the capital. Rescuers retrieved her body from the water after police investigations indicated that the woman had taken her own life, IPN reports.

The police were alerted by the girl’s mother, who reported that her daughter had left home around 7:00 without stating her destination and could not be reached afterward. Authorities immediately launched special measures to locate her, including reviewing surveillance footage from the area where she was last seen.

The video footage confirmed that the young woman had jumped into the lake, where intervention teams later discovered her body.

The police are continuing their investigations to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
