The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration calls on the citizens of the Republic of Moldova not to make unessential trips to the Russian Federation and to regularly verify the information posted on the websites of the Ministry and of Moldova’s Embassy in Moscow, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry recommends the Moldovans who need to urgently return to the Republic of Moldova to use the available commercial flights to Iasi or Bucharest with stops in Istanbul, Turkey or Dubai given that the Moldovan airspace was closed until March 4 and flights through the Chisinau International Airport are not operated.
According to the Ministry, the responsible institutions are assessing the possibilities of using alternative passenger transport routes. A number of options were identified and will be made known later. In connection with the decisions taken by the authorities of the states of the region, which affected air and land transport routes to and from the Russian Federation, the Ministry calls on the Moldovans who are temporarily in Russia to remain calm.
