Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerned about situation in Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Europeans Integration follows with increased concern the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East. Minister of Foreign Affairs Aureliu Ciocoi condemned Gaza’s rocket attacks on Israeli civil facilities without discernment, IPN reports.

The Ministry’s press service said the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Tel-Aviv works as usual. The ordinary program of consular services provided for Moldovan citizens living in this country is maintained.

Simultaneously, the Embassy’s team offers consultations to compatriots through the telephone line for exceptional situations: +97237770544. The Israeli authorities haven’t provided any information about Moldovans affected by the air strikes.

In connection with the heavy rocket attacks on Israeli cities on May 11 and in the morning of May 12, the Ministry reiterates the recommendation for the Moldovans who live in Israel to follow and strictly obey the security directives announced by the Israeli authorities.

According to Reuters, at least 35 people were killed in Gaza and five in Israel as a result of the air strikes of the last few days. On Tuesday evening, Tel Aviv was the target of a massive rocket attack from the Gaza after the Israeli army destroyed a 13-stiry building - Hanadi Tower that is considered a fief of Hamas.
