Ministry of Defense provides details about military vehicles

The military vehicles shown in videos as belonging to Romania belong to the National Army, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova said. The institution noted that the vehicles took equipment and other goods needed for the multinational exercise “JCET 2022” for transporting them to training centers of the National Army.

The clarification was made after videos showing military vehicles “entering the Republic of Moldova through the Galați – Giurgiulești border crossing point” and speculations that these vehicles belong to Romania were disseminated on social media, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Defense on October 5 informed that the multinational exercise “JCET 2022” (Joint Combined Exchange Training) will take place at the training centers of the National Army during October 10-21. It will involve service members of Moldova, Romania and the UK.

“We inform again that given the holding of the exercise, the military vehicles of the National Army will go from units to the training centers of the National Army so as to take part in training. We ask the citizens not to distribute the images online and not to speculate on the origin of the military vehicles,” it is said in a press release of the Ministry.
