Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu, Deputy Prime Minister, transmitted a letter of condolence to his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in connection with the Istanbul bomb attacks, IPN reports.
“We vehemently condemn this terrorist attack in Istanbul city and offer our condolences to the grieving families and wish speedy recovery to those injured,” said Nicu Popescu.
For his part, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniel Vodă said that the Embassy of Moldova in Ankara and Moldova’s Consulate General in Istanbul are permanently in touch with the competent authorities of Turkey so as to find out if the victims include Moldovan citizens. The information accumulated so far shows no Moldovans suffered in the attacks.
