The Governor of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal said he and his party will run in the early legislative elections if they are held. However, he told the reporters he does not want early elections and the MPs should find a solution to elect the head of state, Info-Prim Neo reports. “If early parliamentary elections take place, but I hope the lawmakers will have the wisdom to elect the President, the Party of Regions will run in them. We are confident that we will enter the future Parliament of Moldova,” said Mihail Formuzal, adding his party may win 4% of the vote. The Governor also said that the politicians in Chisinau often make mistakes. Some of them want the Europeans to like them, while others want the Russians or the Americans to like them. He stressed that the Party of Regions will promote policies for Moldova’s benefit. Asked by the press if he may be criticized for pleading for making Russian and Gagauzian official languages, Mihai Formuzal said he expects this to happen. “We have spoken about the language for 20 years. The countries develop, while we continue the discussions on the language. We must remember what good events happened in Moldova and be respectful and tolerant,” said Mihai Formuzal. He stated that now the MPs should adopt the state budget and then elect the head of state. According to him, the Moldovans have waited for the head of state to be elected for two years and can wait for several weeks more.
