Mihai Stoichita leaves Sheriff Tiraspol

Romania’s Mihai Stoichita resigned from the post of coach of the National Division leader Sheriff Tiraspol. The reasons for the leaving are not yet known, IPN reports.

According to the Romanian press, Stoichita left the football team after the club’s managers decided to remove players Alexandru Dedov and Ciprian Tanasa without the coaches’ agreement.

Another alleged reason is the poor performance of Sheriff in the recent past. The Romanian coach confirmed this after the match with Dacia Chisinau, which ended in a 0-0 draw.  The team will be trained in continuation by Vitaliy Rashkevich of Belarus.

Sheriff Tiraspol is 12 points ahead of Dacia Chisinau, which ranks second in the National Division.

Mihai Stoichita took over Sheriff Tiraspol last August, replacing Serbian coach Milan Milanovici. In the 2001-2002 season, he also trained Sheriff, which won Moldova’s championship then.
