Mihai Ghimpu: Reformation of prosecution service is stake of negotiations

The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said the stake of the negotiations is the reformation of the prosecution service, with the Democratic Party refusing to concede the post of prosecutor general, IPN reports.

The Liberal leader Thursday told the journalists that the PL has always pleaded for a coalition with the PDM and PLDM because they realize the importance of continuing the European course. But this thing is not possible without real reforms.

Speaking about the ministries, Mihai Ghimpu said the PDM offered the Liberals to manage the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. However, given that the pensions and all the benefits are set by the Ministry of Economy, the PL also asked being given this ministry too. It’s not fair for the PDM to control both the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Economy.

Mihai Ghimpu noted that the European parties with whom the leaders of the Moldovan pro-European parties discussed also said that the Ministry of Transport should be controlled by the Liberals. He believes that the PDM in fact wants a coalition with the Communists and now uses pretexts to shift the blame onto the PL.

According to Ghimpu, the European future depends now on the PLDM, which should not agree to form a minority government, while the PL is anytime ready to sit at the negotiating table to continue the discussions.
