The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said it is not true that the party’s local organization in Buiucani district joined the Council for Reforming the PL. In a news conference, Mihai Ghimpu, accompanied by a number of representatives of the branch, said that only its head Ana Vasilachi left, IPN reports.
Mihai Ghimpu said he knew that Ana Vasilachi intended to leave as he possesses information that she will be named adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Potang. “They are old friends who hated each other. Ana Vasilachi asked me not to accept Tatiana Potang into the party. We will choose another head of the organization. The branch in Buiucani belongs to the PL, as the other local organizations. No branch joined the traitors,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.
In a news conference earlier the same day, Ana Vasilachi announced that 29 members of the Standing Bureau of the PL’s local organization in Buicani decided to subscribe to the statement of the Council for Reforming the PL and asked convening the party’s Congress in order to reelect the Liberal Party’s administration.
