MIA denies charges of Prosecution about 2 policemen accused of murder
The Ministry of Internal Affairs denies the accusations brought by the General Prosecutor Office regarding the murdering of a convict by two policemen of the Organized Crime Fighting Department of the Operative Service Department within MIA, qualifying them as ungrounded.
A declaration on MIA web page announces that the Ministry initiated an internal investigation on the “premeditated murder” case happened at “Pruncul” penitentiary. According to the quoted source, the investigation aims at “finding out the persons guilty of the actions incriminated by the General Prosecutor Office or rejecting them”. MIA is obliged to present the results of the investigations in 10 days.
According to a press release of the General Prosecutor Office, the convict Simion Miron, 48, died in the surgery room of the “Pruncul” Penitentiary as a result of the injuries caused by two policemen of the Organized Crime Fighting Department of MIA. The death of the convict was confirmed by a special press release of the penitentiary’s hospital.
