The risks of an explosion were excluded in the case of the rocket found close to Briceni town. Bomb disposal engineers examined the body of the missile and four of its elements found in different areas and determined that there was no explosive there, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations provides support for the specialists to continue examining the scene. The objects will be taken to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases.
A border police patrol on December 5 found elements of a rocket that fell in an orchard close to Briceni town. In accordance with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ contingency plan, the Border Police stepped up patrolling and raised the alert level in the areas close to the Briceni and Ocnița Inspectorates. The Ministry continues monitoring the situation.
