MFAEI: Russia gravely violates international humanitarian law

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration reiterates its condemnation of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, which also has direct repercussions on Moldovan citizens. The position was formulated by the MFAEI spokesperson Daniel Vodă in connection with the brutal Russian bombings in Ukraine on January 14, as well as the discovery of the remains of a missile originating from Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration reiterates its condemnation in the strongest terms of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Today’s brutal actions, which targeted heavily populated civilian areas in the cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Odesa and Vynnytsa, seriously violate every norm of international humanitarian law and, implicitly, the Charter of the United Nations”, said Vodă.

“Our citizens feel the dramatic consequences of this war, and an additional proof is the discovery in the area of the Larga border sector in Briceni district of the remains of a missile originating from the Russian air attacks on Ukraine. The Republic of Moldova takes this occasion to once again express its unwavering support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the neighboring country”, commented the MFAEI spokesperson.
