MFAEI issues travel advisory for Sweden and Finland over low temperatures

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) issued a travel advisory for Sweden and Finland. The authorities in Finland and Sweden warned about a drop in temperatures in particular regions, IPN reports.

The Swedish Meteorological Institute of issued a severe weather warning for the regions of Skåne and Blekinge, while the Finnish Meteorological Institute issued an orange severe weather warning covering the whole country.

Up to 25 cm of snow and temperatures as low as -40 °C are expected. In such weather conditions, delays in public transport, cancellation of routes, blocking and closure of roads are possible.

In this connection, citizens are urged to check weather warnings before planning their trips and the availability of alternative travel routes. The advisory is valid from 3 to 6 January 2024.
