MFA: From August 1, Moldovans cannot enter Israel without prior approval

Starting with August 1, the State of Israel will apply new rules of entry into its territory for citizens of the state with which it has a visa-free regime, including citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Specifically, entry into Israel will not be possible without prior ETA-IL approval. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided clarification on the new rules of entry into Israel, IPN reports.

Thus, the State of Israel implements the ETA-IL https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/ system of prior verification and pre-approval of the entry and stay in Israel of foreign citizens. From July 1, the system will be piloted and from August 1, it will function as an institutional system for prior verification of foreign citizens who wish to visit Israel for various purposes.

“According to the Israeli authorities, from August 1, foreign citizens of visa-exempt states will not be able to enter the territory of the State of Israel without prior approval through the ETA-IL system. Foreign citizens who apply through this system in July - the period for piloting the system - receive the approval that will be valid for two years,” said the MFA.

During the piloting period, the application for entry into the State of Israel is free of charge. Starting with August 1, the prior verification for the approval of entry into Israel will cost 25 NIS, approximately 120 Moldovan lei.
