MEP Corina Crețu to pay visit to Chisinau

“I will further do my best for the Republic of Moldova to become part of the European Union,” said MEP Corina Crețu, who will pay a visit to Chisinau, IPN reports.

While in Chisinau, the official will have a number of important meetings. Corina Crețu said she will discuss the European course of the Republic of Moldova with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and the head of the Congress of Local Authorities Tatiana Badan. She will also meet with EU Ambassador in Chisinau Janis Mazeiks, Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Cristian Leon Țurcanu, rector of the Moldova State University Igor Sharov and rector of the Academy of Economic Studies Alexandru Stratan.

“The Republic of Moldova is an important country for the European Union and also for Romania as it contributes to maintaining stability in the region and offers important support to Ukraine, which is in a cruel and unjust war. As a member of the European Parliament and as the European Commissioner for Regional Policy (2014-2019), I’m glad that I have contributed to the Republic of Moldova’s rapprochement with the European Union and will further do my best for the Republic of Moldova to become part of the European Union,” stated Corina Crețu.

According to her, being a country with European aspirations and given its historical path, the Republic of Moldova is in the hearts of all the Romanians and this will be an emotional visit for her as the mother of her mother was born in Chisinau.
