The memoir published by Victor and Viorel Topa is aimed at influencing the courts of law examining cases that involve Vlad Plahotniuc, not at solving the problem of raider attacks, Vlad Plahotniuc’s lawmaker Vitalie Nagacevschi said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The lawyer said the politicians use this memoir as a reference document. According to him, the memoir is evidently aimed at the Democratic Party, of which Vlad Plahotniuc forms part. “The memoir says that my client Vladimir Plahotniuc is involved in all the recent raider attacks, but provides no evidence. Such a statement looks defamatory and may generate a new lawsuit whereby my client could demand that Victor and Viorel Topa deny the information and pay damages,” said Vitalie Nagacevschi. He also said that the memoir contains many untrue facts. “Every time there is mentioned the so-called Anti-Mafia Movement, it is said that it was launched by civil society and the mass media, but I ask myself what civil society if it was launched by Sergiu Mocanu. As to the mass media, we all know who is involved and benefits from the financial resources managed by Victor and Viorel Topa,” said the lawyer. Vitalie Nagacevschi denied that Vlad Plahotniuc controls the judges, as the memoir asserts. “The Buiucani court is to examine a case involving my client that was opened against Viorel and Victor Topa last year. Would have the examination of this case been postponed if Vladimir Plahotniuc had controlled the judges”, Vitalie Nagacevschi asked rhetorically. According to the lawyer, Vladimir Plahotniuc is involved in three civil cases, one of which, against Sergiu Mocanu, was won. Another case, against Victor and Viorel Topa, has not been yet examined, while the third, against Sergiu Mocanu, was started over the recent accusations made by Mocanu against Vladimir Plahotniuc. The memoir made public by the brothers Victor and Viorel Topa last week says that First Deputy Speaker Vladimir Plahotniuc (Vlad Ulinici) is behind the conspiracies against a number of banks operating in Moldova.
