A group of members of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) from Criuleni district withdrew from the party and joined the Social-Political Movement “Acţiunea Europeana” (MAE). The announcement was made at a news conference held at Info-Prim Neo on Tuesday, March 2. The 16 persons are members of primary organizations from Magdacesti, Porumbeni and Cimiseni villages of Criuleni district. They signed a statement to become members of the MAE. The MAE president Anatol Petrencu said that the supporters of the MAE from the PPCD primary organizations are in reality much larger in number. “The other members of the PPCD did not leave the party as they are afraid of revenge. But I can say with confidence that they support us and will vote for us,“ Anatol Petrencu said. “We want to join the MAE in the fight against generalized corruption in Moldova. We decided to leave Iurie Rosca’s PPCD owing to the betrayals and slyness with which this party is led by the Communists. We consider that the MAE has the most credible and best prepared team of leaders that includes renowned and honest specialists,” said Andrei Plop, former vice president of the PPCD youth organization “New Generation”, the local office in Criuleni. Another MAE member Vasile Onica, who is also a former member of the PPCD, gave an example to illustrate the corruption existing within the PPCD. According to him, the representatives of this party use administrative resources for electoral purposes. Onica said that when he asked the female mayor of Magdacesti to offer social assistance to his invalid father, she told him to distribute promotional materials of the PPCD. The PPCD has not yet commented on the MAE’s statements.
