Vladimir Cebotari is the Democratic Party candidate for mayor of Chișinău. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Free International University of Moldova, specializing in economic law.
The candidate is 38 years old. He worked as a legal adviser in a law firm, then was a top consultant at the Informational-Analytical Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, he advised the general director of the Transport Agency in the field of air transport and coordinated national Transport Agency projects. Between 2006 and 2011, he was head of the Legal Department of the SOE "Air Moldova", while between 2011 and 2013, he held the position of director of the Civil Aviation Authority.
He also held the position of secretary of the Board of Directors of the SOE "Air Moldova", chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Gara Nord" and chairperson of the Board of Directors of SOE "MoldATSA". Between 2013-2015, he held the position of deputy minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure. From April 2015 until July of the same year, he was general manager of the SOE Railway of Moldova. Between July 2015 and December 2017, he held the position of minister of justice. Following the elections of February 24, 2019, Vladimir Cebotari became a Member of Parliament in the 10th legislature, however, his parliamentary immunity was withdrawn at the end of September.
Between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018, Vladimir Cebotari declared a 193 thousand lei salary. During this period, his wife had over 440 thousand lei income from dividends from "Sanair Service" SRL and dividends worth almost 1.2 million lei from the "Fly One" airline. The candidate declared 25 thousand euros from the sale of his car. The family owns two urban land parcel, two residential houses and two Porsche model cars. Additionally, the candidate has three watches worth between 8.5 thousand and 14 thousand euros, as well as furniture worth over 14 thousand euros.
The PDM Chișinau mayoral hopeful wants to create information collection centers in each district of the capital in order to collect information regarding the issues concerning the citizens and to forward the information to City Hall. Additionally, the candidate wants to entrust the oversight of each district to a warden, who will signal disorder, broken inventory and other issues that require the attention of City Hall. Additionally, the Democrat is in favor of supporting the suburb settlements by organizing fairs where the products of the suburban farmers would be displayed. As mayor of Chișinău, Vladimir Cebotari will prioritize good and illuminated roads, clean air, modern transport, landscaped courtyards, modern road infrastructure, fluid road traffic, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, public transport, culture, tourism, entrepreneurship.
