The people suffering from asthma cannot find the necessary medications in drugstores. Contacted by IPN, the director of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices Alexandru Coman said the imports of asthma drugs last year were by 14% higher than necessary and the supplies should have been enough for the beginning of this year too. But the drugstores are out of stock because these medications are sold abroad.
“As the neighboring countries face a shortage of asthma medications, these drugs are exported individually. The people buy drugs in Moldova for the relatives from the neighboring states. Given that Moldova is a small country, the supplies are used up quickly,” stated Alexandru Coman.
He added that new supplies of asthma medications were ordered so as to satisfy the demand.
