The Government has launched a digital service that can be accessed by citizens and entrepreneurs to place orders to have documents delivered home. The authorities are confident that the Mdelivery service will eliminate the interminable queues at desks and will contribute to the country’s digital transformation, IPN reports.
In the event to present the new service, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said that Mdelivery service can be also used by the diaspora to ask to have the passport, the driver’s license or a certificate delivered home. “The service has been piloted in five districts. We can now more productively use the citizens’ time and enable them to receive the documents at home,” stated the official.
“Mdelivery perfectly matches the concept of a digital citizen who is a free man who does not depend on the bureaucracy of the state authorities and is not constrained by a particular geographical place in the interaction with the state. This can apply for services at any hour, from any meridian and can use any payment method,” said Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Țurcanu.
The digital service Mdelivery was developed thanks to the support provided by the World Bank through the project to modernize governmental services.
“We step firmly into the second decade of successful cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the e-Government Agency. The launch of the governmental delivery service is an important step in the agenda of digital transformation and modernization of services in the Republic of Moldova. We are proud that the World Bank is part of this process of transformation of governmental services within which Mdelivery is one of the foundation stones,” said the World Bank’s Country Manager for Moldova Inguna Dobraja.
The digital platform for accessing public delivery services is available on mdelivery.gov.md .
