Mayoralty prepares in fair weather for foul
The mayoralty intends to purchase 50-60 snow-cleaning plows from specialized western companies.
The head of the Dwelling Department within the local administration, Mihai Solcan, announced that now many intention visits are made at the specialized companies of Western Europe, in order to identify the most competitive equipment for Moldova from the quality-price angle. Later, the mayoralty is to arrange for a tender for purchasing these units, at which the mentioned companies are to take part.
Local authorities intend to purchase these units, which in winter would clean the snow and in summer, by changing the equipment, to be used for cleaning the streets. The mayoralty does lacks at the moment snowplows, and only 500 persons of 1,150 necessary are hired to clean the city, Solcan noted, highlighting that once purchasing the needed equipment, it will be not necessary to additionally hire persons.
The municipality will purchase those 60 units along 3 years, as their purchasing involves high costs from the local budget, Solcan underlined.
Previously, at the mayoralty’s meeting, the head of state, Vladimir Voronin, advised local authorities to inform themselves about the possibility to purchase such units from Bosch or from Scandinavian companies.
