Businessmen of the capital will be obliged to repair the pavements in front of their offices. Interim mayor Vasile Ursu gave this order to the district pretors, requiring them to register the names of businessmen who will not comply with it. Ursu mentioned at the mayoralty’s meeting that he would not tolerate anymore the «disastrous» situations like the one noted in front of the „Tri-Lux” Night Club on 31 August 1989 street. At the same time, Ursu required to Public Transport and Communications Department to get involved urgently in the pavement repairing process, outside the territory of businessmen. Thus, it shall be repaired the pavement from the National Palace to Stefan cel Mare avenue In this context, Ursu also required the repairing of the square of the Organ Hall, according to a draft that architecture and urbanism department is to issue. According to the interim mayor, the pavements and squares shall be repaired till the Chisinau’s Day. Previously, the president Vladimir Voronin promised 70 million lei from the state budget for repairing the roads of the capital, insisting as well on pavement repairing from this money.
