The mayoral elections in Ermoclia village of Stefan Voda district were invalidated by a court decision. President of the Central Election Commission Iurie Ciocan Friday said they will decide how to act further when they receive the court decision. The given decision was challenged, IPN reports.

Iurie Ciocan noted that such actions are an absolutely normal process. “There is an increasing number of applications asking for a vote recount at electoral officers. The results have been so far confirmed as a result of the recounts, with small exceptions,” he stated.

About 10,000 lei is spent on recounting the votes at each electoral office. “We ask those who decide to seek a recount to analyze well the necessity of such an act,” urged Iurie Ciocan.

The outcome of the June 14 local elections was earlier annulled in Topala village of Cimislia district because voting there was stopped after about 20 candidates for local councilor vandalized the polling place.
