Mayor of Chisinau to participate in conference of biggest world capitals’ mayors
The interim mayor of Chisinau municipality Vasile Ursu participates, from June 30 to July 3, at the fifth Annual Conference of Local Level Glocalization (globalization at local level), held in Ankara, Turkey. Ursu is accompanied by a delegation of Chisinau municipality, transmits Info-Prim Neo referring to a press release of the Mayoralty.
According to the quoted source, at the present edition of the Conference mayors of the biggest world capitals, business world representatives, representatives of international organizations and mass-media institutions participate. During three working days, the participants will tackle on several issues related to the role, diplomacy and contribution of cities to the peace building and conflict solving process, the key-role of local level globalization in blocking civilizations gaps, as well as the role of press in a multi-cultural world, the participation of the young generation to the decision-making process, the fundamental role of cities in EU enlargement.
The idea of local level globalization, that gathered partners around the world, was launched in 2002 in Rome, Italy, during the first annual conference, and represents the fundamental role of mayors and cities in establishing a more equilibrated and peaceful world.
The present Annual Conference of Glocalization is tacking place under the auspices of Melih Gokcek, Ankara mayor, and has the slogan “ Civilizations meeting: the value of diversity for the communities of the same world.”
