Mayor of Chisinau demands to exclude green corridors for official convoys

The mayor of the municipality of Chisinau Ion Ceban asks that road traffic should no longer be blocked for creating green corridors for official convoys, including delegations. He noted the officials can travel on dedicated lanes without blocking intersections, IPN reports.

The mayor told a news conference that during one day, they received 47 requests to ensure green corridors for reaching the destination swifter. “So, the traffic lights need to be regulated for someone and four minutes are later needed to return to normality. Forty-seven times a day for these princes, princesses, queens and kings of the Republic of Moldova to travel through Chisinau as it is convenient for them by blocking important arteries, boulevards,” stated Ion Ceban.

“I know there are a lot of decent people in the police, but they receive instructions from the “professional government” to act inappropriately. I reiterate that the number of cars didn’t increase substantially compared with last year, but the current disaster is due to the poor management of things.”
