Mayor General requests clear information on Termocom financial situation
Chisinau Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca requested the City Hall on Monday, July 2 to speed up the repair works of the power plants administrated by “Termocom” JSC and to prepare the housing in the city for the cold season.
Vladimir Babici, technical director of the heat supplier, said that at the moment CET-2 delivers 77 thousand cubic metres of hot water at a temperature of 58 Celsius degrees. At the same time, the restoration of the water heating boiler at the “Est” power plant with a capacity of 50 G-calories per hour will be soon finished. 2100 vertical conveyors were repaired and 60 km of the networks from “Sud” and “Est’” power plants were verified, as well as the networks inside the districts of the city. 7.9 km of the main networks were replaced, as well as 6.5 km of pipes for conveying heat, including 1.5 km of pipes transporting hot water.
According to Babici another problem which should concern the public administration is the fact that the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure stopped the inspection works of the main lines coming from CET-2. Although the population was announced about the start of the works on June 19, because of some arguments between the representatives of the Moldovan and Ukrainian energy systems, the works were disrupted for three weeks. This fact may delay the end of the works planned for October 1, the cited source added.
In this context, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca requested the decision-makers to present an informative note on the financial situation of “Termocom” JSC to the Chisinau Municipal Council, as well as on the computation of the charges for heat.
