The day of May 9 confirmed that the current government does not have any chance. The humiliation that the Moldovans sustained in connection with the May 9 concert given in the Great National Assembly Square represented the crown of their mistaken policy, the leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu said in a news conference on May 14.
“The events that took place on May 9 represent defiance of our European road. Nothing can save the alliance from the imminent catastrophe. Their attempts to save themselves in the last moment are ridiculous,” said Mocanu, who considers that Moldova lost the geopolitical battles owing to the existing corruption.
According to Sergiu Mocanu, on May 9 they celebrated not victory against the fascist Germany, but a Russian invasion of Moldova. He praised the people for not going to the concert and not allowing the administration that promised them European integration to humiliate them.
The leader of “Antimafie” said that Ilan Shor, who sponsored the concert, was issued with a diplomatic passport by the Foreign Ministry in the summer of 2011. He owns duty-free shops, one of which is situated in the center of Chisinau. Thousands of bottles of alcoholic beverages are passed monthly through it as coverage for tax evasion. Ilan Shor benefited from the largest loans from Banca de Economii and he gave his personal plane to lui Vlad Filat.
Mocanu also said that the statement made by the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, according to which he cannot ban or allow holding events in the Great National Assembly Square, are interpretative. The mayor wouldn’t have broken the law if he had banned the concert in the square, but he preferred to find an excuse.
A concert dedicated to the Victory day was staged in the central square of Chisinau on May 9, with the support of the Russian Embassy. It involved two famous Russian singers. The concert was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin, who came to Moldova on a private visit.
