Master Eugen Doga will sing for young people who protested on April 7, 2009

“I want the young people who took part in the protests two years ago to feel that they have not been forgotten and that their deeds remained alive through music,” composer Eugen Doga said in a news conference, referring to the concert that he will give at the Organ Hall in Chisinau on April 7, Info-Prim Neo reports. Almost all the pieces of music included in the concert “My White City” are novelties, except the very well-known songs. Eugen Doga said that his sixth suite that will be premiered at the concert was inspired by young people's protests of April 7, 2009. They took to the streets to protest against the election outcome. Some of them became victims of the circumstances even if they did not take part in the devastation of state buildings, said the composer. The sixth suite centers on two themes – aggressiveness on the one hand and sadness of mothers whose sons were hurt on the other hand, but also the hope that guided the young people. “I want the two worlds that come together in this suite to generate hope,” said the master. The concert involves the National Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Organ Hall conducted by Cristian Florea, the Chamber Choir directed by Ilona Stepan, and students of the High School “Ciprian Porumbescu”. It is organized by the Chisinau City Hall in concert with the Organ Hall and Eugen Doga.
