As many as 72 cultural events will be staged in the capital city, throughout the country and in the diaspora within the "Martsihsor" International Music Festival in the course of March. The festival, which this year is held under the title "Spring, come home!", has already reached its 59th edition, IPN reports.
At a press conference, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan said that this is the second year when the program covers the entire Republic of Moldova, as well as the diaspora.
"A number of 48 performances will be staged in 48 localities of 34 districts. If we talk about "Martsihsor in the whole world", we will have the "Eugene Ionesco" National Theater Tour with the show "Chirița in the province" in over 7 European countries. We will have artists' tours. But the cultural diplomacy program will continue throughout the year," stated Sergiu Prodan.
The heads of the institutions involved in the organization of the Festival presented their program of events that include concerts, shows and meetings with renowned artists.
"As always, "Moldova Concert" hosts most of the "Martsihsor" performances. The official opening will take place at the National Palace on March 1, with a concert dedicated to spring, love and warmth," said director Andrei Locoman.
Representatives of concert institutions, such as "Maria Bieșu" National Opera and Ballet House, the Organ Hall and "Sergei Lunkevich" National Philharmonic, also presented various programs of events that will be held as part of the "Martsihsor" Festival. Among the guests are internationally renowned artists, as well as ensembles of Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland.
