Member of parliament Marina Tauber, who is under criminal investigation, can leave the country from november 14-21. A decision to this effect has been issued by the Chisinau Court, Buiucani district, and, according to the magistrates, the decision cannot be appealed, IPN reports.
In mid-august, Marina Tauber was ordered not to leave the country for 60 days. The preventive measure had been issued by the court in the case concerning the illegal financing of political parties or electoral campaigns, in which she is a defendant. The member of parliament said at the time that she was planning to travel to the Russian Federation, and the court hearing was a spontaneous one to prevent her from leaving.
Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu recently said that Marina Tauber is facing several charges. These include falsifying campaign and political party financing reports, accepting financing from an organized criminal group and interfering in the administration of justice. According to him, the prosecution lasted from january 2022-june 2023. 67 volumes were sent to the court, accompanied by a 350-page indictment. So far, 63 hearings have been held.
