Marian Lupu will have to let somebody down, political analyst
The delay in forming a government coalition is due to the indecision of the Democrat leader, considers political analyst Petru Bogatu. On his blog, the analyst writes that Marian Lupu will have to leave somebody down. The longer he coquettes with two separate negotiators, the greater will be the anger of the abandoned one, Bogatu says, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Petru Bogatu believes that no matter who Marian Lupu forms an alliance with, the oscillation between the two political directions becomes unbearable, while his position in the negotiations is beyond limits. The PDM acts like this owing to its recklessness and deficit of image. “In such conditions, the chances of a dialogue with the future Opposition on the election of the head of state lessen every day. If the election of the President fails, it is the Democratic Party that will be to blame,” said the analyst.
On December 21, after the sixth round of talks in trilateral format, Marian Lupu told the reporters that it is too early to compare the offer of the PCRM and the proposals of Mihai Ghimpu and Vlad Filat. The same day, Marian Lupu had a meeting with the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin. Lupu said it was a constructive discussion that centered on the post-electoral situation in Moldova. A new meeting of representatives of the PLDM, PDM and PL will take place today.
