The Gaburici Government will not be changed and a parliamentary majority could be created after the June 14 local elections, chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
Referring to the rumors according to which the Gaburici Government could be dismissed after the local elections, the leader of the PDM said the governments are not formed to be changed in half a year. “We need political stability. We need a Government to be able to do reforms and to implement the Association Agreement with the EU. We are in a difficult situation both at internal level and at foreign level. We will do everything possible to maintain stability. We do not need to change the Government,” said Lupu.
He also said there are chances for a parliamentary majority to be created by autumn, but didn’t specify with what parliamentary party this majority will be constituted. “After the local elections, things will return to normality. We will make effort to form a parliamentary majority. We will use the political dialogue, will negotiate and will do our utmost to strengthen government,” he stated.
Referring to the theft from the banking system, Marian Lupu said all those involved in this case should be penalized. “What happened at Banca de Economii is a unique act of corruption by its size. Things cannot remain like this. Those to blame must be held accountable. Surely this case involves more than one person. Everything possible must be done to restore the money as the over 1 million depositors of Banca de Economii must lose no leu,” he stated.
