The three political leaders of the former AEI started to consider candidates for the post of Prime Minister. The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu told the journalists on March 29 that the name of the candidate will be discussed last. First of all they will determine what skills the future Premier must have and what he should do for the change of Government to be beneficial, IPN reports.
According to Marian Lupu, the PDM’s position on the candidacy of Vlad Filat remained unchanged. They will not support him. The three leaders will hold one more meeting and they approve of the fact that President Nicolae Timofti does not demand naming a candidate as soon as possible, but only urged the three parties to be responsible and to hasten the taking of a decision.
The Democratic leader also said that judging by the adopted bills and the actions of some of the politicians, it seems that most of the lawmakers, not only the Communists, get ready for early elections.
On the other hand, Liberal lawmaker Victor Popa believes that the March 29 vote in Parliament, by which he was named judge of the Constitutional Court, is a sign that the Alliance for European Integration 3 will be formed.
The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said the Lib-Dems aim to obtain the re-formation of the AEI and consider that results can be achieved. He stressed that the early parliamentary elections must be avoided and he got the impression that the other colleagues from the former AEI also want to sign a new agreement.
