Marian Lupu loses two votes from PLDM

Liberal-Democratic MPs Alexandru Cimbrinciuc and Ion Butmalai, in the December 19 sitting of the legislature, said they will not vote for the alliance’s candidate Marian Lupu in the next presidential elections. They demanded that Marian Lupu apologize publicly for implying on a number of TV channels that they did not vote for him in the recent elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Acting President spread rumors about me the last days. I voted for you and thus demand that you apologize publicly. You aroused the indignation of my family and my friends. We fulfilled our duty and voted for you. I will not vote for Marian Lupu in the next elections,” said Alexandru Cimbrinciuc. Ion Butmalai also said that he will not support Marian Lupu in the new elections. “You made serious accusations against me through TV channels. I personally had reasons not to vote for you, but complied with the party’s decision. I ask for public apologies. If you have suspicions, you should have examined the video materials. I acted as I ought to,” said the MP. Communist lawmaker Eduard Musuc demanded that Marian Lupu apologize for saying that the Communist MPs were prevented from taking part in the voting by being held by force. The December 16 elections failed and new elections will be held within a month.
