The German city Mannheim offered a batch of humanitarian aid in the form of food products for the Ukrainian refugees accommodated at the temporary placement center situated on Studenților St. The assistance consists of two trucks of products to the value of almost 2 million lei, IPN reports.
In the donation ceremony, mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that Mannheim is twinned with the municipality of Chisinau and this assistance forms part of joint projects. The donation for the center housed by “Patria LukOil” is the result of the last visit paid by representatives of the municipality to Germany. “A number of 95 persons stay at the center at present. We continue to help all those who need services or food and hygiene products. We daily offer packages that are enough for a week to 340 persons. We had even 800 persons,” stated the mayor.
Ion Ceban also said that over 1,300 Ukrainian refugee children have been integrated into educational institutions in Chisinau so far. Psycho-pedagogical, medical and social services are offered to Ukrainian children and adults.
A team consisting of 14 persons daily provides assistance to persons lodged at “Patria LukOil”. “I thank the counterparts from Mannheim for the assistance offered to refill the supplies and to continue distributing aid,” stated the mayor.
