Mandatory health insurance policy will cover 188 news services

The persons who possess mandatory health insurance policy will have access to another 188 diagnosis and treatment services after the modified common mandatory health insurance program is published in the Official Gazette, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the National Health Insurance Company, the family doctor will have the right to allot tickets for a series of high-performance examinations, including for detecting glycosylated hemoglobin, cholesterol (a-cholesterol, b-cholesterol, and free cholesterol), antibodies in chronic hepatitis, thyroid gland hormones (T3, T4 and TSH), echographic examinations, cardiac ultrasound, mammography, urography, etc.

Earlier, only the specialist doctor had the right to give tickets for high-performance examinations. Under the adjusted program, 70 examinations for ambulatory patients will be transferred from the list of high-performance medical services to the list of paraclinic examinations (lab analyses). The move is aimed at satisfying the need for medical services of the people from districts and villages following the outfitting of the medical-sanitary institutions with modern diagnosis technology from the Government’s funds.
