The 22-year-old man who was accused of committing a double murder in Soroca last year was sentenced to life in prison and obliged to pay 800,000 lei in respect of non-pecuniary damage to the successor of the injured parties, IPN reports.
According to the police, the carbonized bodies of a woman aged 42 and her 15-year-old daughter in an advanced state of putrefaction were found in a wood in Dumbrăveni village of Soroca district at the start of last August.
The police in Soroca started a criminal case over intentional murder committed with special cruelly.
The sentence was passed by the Soroca Town Court. This can be challenged in a higher court.
