A man, 29, from northern Moldova got sentenced to 17 years in a closed prison for raping his cousin, a 13-year-old girl.
The case happened in August 17. The court heard that the man, while visiting his grandparents, got drunk and then lured his cousin into a room. He went on to force himself on the girl, who suffers from severe intellectual and psychomotor disability.
The accused exercised his right to silence during the trial.
The sentence is not final and may be appealed within 15 days.
