A man aged 55 from Condrăteşti village of Ungheni district was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after the house in which he lived was rocked by an explosion. He was taken by a helicopter to Chisinau from the Ungheni District Hospital, being transported safely by Romanian SMURD doctors and paramedics.
Contacted by IPN for details, senior press officer of the Ungheni Police Inspectorate Cristina Vicol said the blast occurred on July 12. The man started the stove and a gas cylinder exploded owing to a leakage. The house was damaged, while the man suffered serious burns.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the patient with burns on 85% of the body was transported to Chisinau by a helicopter today, July 13. The helicopter landed at the Dinamo Stadium and from there the man was taken by the National Aviasan Service to the National Burns Center in Chisinau for further medical care.
This is the eighth aero-medical operation performed for Moldovan citizens so far this year, according to the Inspectorate.
