A 64-year-old resident of Chisinau died before the ambulance arrived, following a road accident on Sunday near the village of Ivancea, Orhei district. In a sharp turn, the driver lost control over the vehicle veered onto the wrong side of the road, coliding with an incoming car.

According to the General of Police Inspectorate press officer, Mariana Beţivu, the car that was moving in a regular manner towards Orhei, was driven by a 31-year-old man. The accident had no other victims. The forensic examination will determine whether the deceased driver consumed alcohol.

During the same evening, in another accident near Peresecina, four people, including a six-month-old child, were injured in an accident. An 11-year-old girl suffered from a left arm contusion, while two women, 18 and 39, suffered from thigh and back contusions. The child had a foot injury.

While performing a steering maneuver, the 39-year-old driver did not  give way to a passing car, driven by a 42-year-old man, thus the impact occurred. The man did not suffer.
