Man and woman suffer burns in Chisinau apartment fire
A man and a woman from Chisinau were rushed to the hospital with first-, second- and third-degree burns and carbon monoxide poisoning after their apartment caught fire. Most probably, the fire started from a smoldering cigarette.
Liliana Puscasu, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the fire happened in a nine-story building situated on Sprancenoaia St on July 1.
Three firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene. A number of dwellers were evacuated. The firefighters fought to bring the blaze under control for about an hour. One room of the apartment was destroyed. The 66-year-old owner of the apartment and his female partner aged 65 were admitted to the Burns Center.
