PSRM presidential candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo is a "Trojan horse through which others want to rule the country". The statement belongs to President Maia Sandu, who is running for a new presidential term on the PAS ticket, and was made at Sunday's electoral debates with her counter-candidate in the second round of the elections. "I am sure that no Moldovan wants to be led by those who stand behind this man," Maia Sandu added, IPN reports.
"No Moldovan does not want to be led by those who stole the state and the citizens, those we fought and managed to oust from power. Now they have managed to find a facade behind which to hide in order to return to power and control state resources again. But these people are also being used. Their thirst for money, their thirst for revenge is being used by even bigger regional forces of interests," the presidential candidate said.
According to Maia Sandu, the resources allocated in this campaign for her opponent are not money allocated by Ilan Shor, Igor Dodon or Veaceslav Platon. It is money from elsewhere, money sent to the country to destabilize it, to bring division and conflict here at home. "We know who is hiding in this Trojan horse. Platon, Shor, Dodon are hiding, but we don't know who the others are," Maia Sandu said.
The PAS candidate noted that in the second round of the presidential elections, citizens will have to choose between two different development alternatives for the country. It is a choice between development and stagnation, a choice between openness and isolation, between stability and destabilization. "The choice is important for our future. Which country do we want, who do we want to make important decisions for our future?" said Maia Sandu during the electoral debates.
