President Maia Sandu said Ukraine can be supported and reconstructed through investments both in times of war and when peace is restored. In an event organized by the Ukraine House Davos, the Moldovan official said the whole democratic world should assist Ukraine to win, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.
Also on Wednesday, as part of the panel discussion centering on Europe’s leadership in a fragmented world affected by war, Maia Sandu underlined that the solidarity shown by the European Union amid the crises aggravated by the war in Ukraine enabled Europe to resist, to build resilience and to show that the values of democracy and freedom can be defended.
President Sandu is paying a visit to Switzerland where she attended the World Economic Forum on Tuesday. The official took part in a discussion on the effects of the Ukraine war on the European states and the solutions for building the resilience of the countries of the region.
Maia Sandu noted that the energy crisis handled by Moldova, including by reducing dependence on Russian gas, is one of these consequences, but there are also other problems amplified by the war waged by Russia.
“Propaganda and misinformation are serious problems in our country and I consider these are a problem for many states and we should learn together how to be more efficient in counteracting them,” stated President Sandu.
