The Office for Prevention and Fight against Money Laundering, which is subordinated to the Government, has been warned by Prime Minister Maia Sandu not to sabotage the investigation of issues related to the $1B fraud and other corruption schemes.

“Do not try to sabotage and, instead, take all requests seriously because we all have a responsibility in front of the law and in front of the citizens. Those who will not fulfill their obligations will pay for it”, declared Maia Sandu at the beginning of the government meeting.

The prime minister also appealed to other subordinated institutions not to attempt to block the investigative process of corruption cases and public money embezzlement.

Another issue addressed by Maia Sandu relates to the supply of food products to educational institutions. "It could be a good idea to set up a black list of economic operators that deliver low quality and expired food products to educational institutions," said the prime minister.

Maia Sandu asked the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and the National Food Safety Agency to come up with concrete solutions to avoid food poisoning among children due to spoiled products.
