With 97.43% of the vote reports counted, Maia Sandu remains in first place, being followed by Alexandr Stoianoglo. According to the preliminary presidential election results, the candidate of the Party of Action and Solidarity won 41.76% of the vote, while the Party of Socialists’ candidate gained 26.39% of the ballot, IPN reports.

Victoria Furtună, independent candidate – 4.53%
Vasile Tarlev, Party for the Future of Moldova – 3.24%

Octavian Țîcu, Electoral Bloc “Together” – 0.93%
Andrei Năstase, independent candidate – 0.65%
Natalia Morari, independent candidate – 0.62%
Tudor Ulyanovski, independent candidate – 0.52%.
According to the Electoral Code, if none of the candidates for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova gains at least half of the poll, a runoff vote between the two candidates who obtained most of the votes in the first round of voting is held in two weeks of the date of the first round.
